It was an absolute honour to host The Afribond Forum at the House of Commons on 18th May 2026. The evening brought together a phenomenal room of brilliant minds, funds, investors, and thought leaders dedicated to shifting the needle on African growth. At Afribond, we host these events because we believe it is vital to platform the real change-makers within the African investment landscape, unpacking the tangible impact they are driving across the continent.

The heart of the event featured Surayyah Ahmad’s presentation was the urgent need to focus on blended finance models specifically designed to empower Africa’s youth and the next generation. This followed up with a riveting fireside chat hosted by Sidi Saccoh, featuring Surayyah Ahmad (Founder of Sabou Capital) and Gbolade Okeowo (Kuramo Capital Management) discussing the the necessity for domestic and international pension funds to increase their allocations into alternative assets to drive long-term development. They also brokedown how investor sentiment, risk perception, and appetite vary significantly across different African nations.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Neil Coyle and his team for their invaluable support in hosting us at the House of Commons, and to our incredible speakers and guests who made the evening so impactful.

Afribond hosts these events because we believe it is vital to listen to the real needle-movers within the African investment landscape, and understand the impact they are having across the continent. We are very proud to show new investment opportunities to a new network and will continue doing so.
